Brazilian Cherry Hardwood Sand & Finish in Fairview, Vancouver

Brazilian cherry, also known as jatoba, is a hard, dense, exotic wood. It is harder than Canadian maple. When sanded and prepped right, jatoba will take stain beautifully. It naturally darkens rapidly with exposure to sun light.

My client called me after purchasing this near-new condo in the Fairview - Shaughnessy area of Vancouver. She really did not like the red, choppy appearance of this prefinished engineered floor. It was sanded flat and finished with Loba EZ Prime, followed with Loba EZ Finish, for a total of three clear coats. A UV blocker was added to the finish in hopes of preserving the tan appearance. I’ve yet to confirm if the UV blocker has made a difference in keeping it from darkening again.
